The workgroups will update existing core measure sets, develop strategies for facilitating implementation across care settings and promote measure alignment. The guiding principles used in creating the core measure are that they be meaningful to patients, consumers, and physicians, while reducing variability in measure selection, collection burden, and cost. “Patient-centered quality care depends on the consistent use of meaningful quality measures,” Laura Cranston, RPh, PQA Chief Executive Officer, said. “The CQMC is an important effort to promote measure alignment and harmonization across public and private payers. As a leading developer of consensus-based medication performance measures, PQA is proud to be a CQMC member organization and work alongside other healthcare leaders to improve healthcare quality for all Americans.” __________________ Pharmacy Quality Alliance: PQAalliance.org Core Quality Measures Collaborative: qualityforum.org/cqmc ### Contact: Richard Schmitz, PQA Senior Director of Communications, [email protected] or 703-347-7931 |
