Susan Cantrell, RPh, CAE

The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy

Susan Cantrell currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP). Previously in her career, Susan was Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Americas for the Drug Information Association (DIA).

Before joining DIA, Susan was Vice President of Resources Development at the American Society of Health‐System Pharmacists (ASHP). While at ASHP, she helped launch ASHP Advantage and build ASHP’s online learning enterprise. Under her leadership, ASHP became the only pharmacy association accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education as a provider of continuing medical education for physicians.

Susan is a graduate of the University of Mississippi College of Pharmacy and she completed an ASHP-accredited hospital pharmacy residency program at University of Mississippi Medical Center. She received her Certificate in Public Health from the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Public Health. A registered pharmacist and former hospital and home care pharmacy administrator, she is certified by the American Society of Association Executives as a Certified Association Executive (CAE). She is an active member and has served in several volunteer leadership positions in the American Society of Association Executives, the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy, the American Society of Health‐System Pharmacists, and the International Pharmaceutical Federation.
