Call for 2023 Annual Meeting Session Proposals
PQA is pleased to announce the opportunity to submit session proposals for our 2023 Annual Meeting that will take place May 10-12 at the Omni Nashville in Nashville, Tenn. We have identified a broad range of session topics below. We encourage submissions to include case studies, innovative practices and emerging trends. Proposals should relate to quality improvement in medication use. While organizations are welcome to submit multiple proposals, in most cases, PQA will only be able to accept one proposal per organization.
Session Proposals:
PQA prefers topics that support PQA’s strategic goals, though submitters are permitted to propose other topics. Please select the highest priority topic for your proposal.
PQA’s goals include:
- Lead innovation and modernization of medication use quality to deliver solutions for a person-centered and value-based healthcare system.
- Advance the quality of pharmacist-provided care and services that optimize medication use, adherence and safety.
- Champion diversity, equity and inclusion and address health disparities in medication use quality.
Supporting Topics
- Healthcare quality best practices: specialty pharmacy, opioids, MTM, mental and behavioral health, diabetes, HIV, Hepatitis C, immunizations, cardiovascular disease, oncology
- Social determinants of health, health equity and access to care
- Value-based pharmacy and payment models
- Including the patient voice in quality
- Telehealth or telemedicine to impact quality
- Multidisciplinary strategies to improve Star Ratings
- Vaccinations, including for COVID-19
- COVID-19 and its impact on medication use quality
CPE Accreditation:
Proposals must be eligible for ACPE CPE accreditation. Such proposals must be based on a knowledge, skill, or practice gap and be structured to meet the educational needs of pharmacists.
Presentation Format:
The meeting will include a variety of session formats such as panel discussions or presentations with Q&A. All sessions will be 45 minutes long, including introductions, CE instructions, housekeeping and Q&A. All sessions will be in person with no virtual or hybrid options available.

- Call for Submission Opens: Thursday, October 6, 2022
- Deadline for Submissions: Tuesday, November 15, 2022, 11:59 pm ET
- Notification: January 2023
Call for 2023 Annual Meeting Poster Session Call for Abstract
The Pharmacy Quality Alliance (PQA) invites poster abstract submissions for the 2023 PQA Annual Meeting Poster Session sponsored by Pharmacy Quality Solutions (PQS). The poster session provides an opportunity for authors to highlight their efforts in quality improvement and research and for attendees to engage in insightful dialogue about the healthcare quality landscape.
This year students, residents and fellows have the unique opportunity to participate as PQA has expanded the poster session to include a learner section that allows works in progress.
Submission Type
- Completed project: If a professional is the the presenting author, only completed works are accepted. Students, fellows and residents may also submit completed projects.
- Encore presentation: Original research that has already been presented at another venue or published in another format. Encore presentations are not eligible for abstract publication and must meet the submission and evaluation criteria for original abstracts.
- Work in Progress: If a student, resident or fellow is the presenting author, works in progress are acceptable. Students, residents or fellows may also submit completed projects.
Submission Category
- Research: Results of research are intended to be used by a broad audience (i.e., generalizable)
- Quality Improvement: Results of quality improvement are intended for use primarily by the entity conducting or funding the study (i.e., not generalizable)
Process and Timeline
- Call for Poster Abstracts Submission Opens: Tuesday, November 1, 2022
- Deadline for Submissions: Friday, January 6, 2022, 11:59pm ET
- Notification: Late February 2023
