Jonathan Watanabe from the University of California San Francisco detailed the pharmacists’ role in addressing primary care gaps and their unique expertise that sets them apart as providers. "We're seeing that more and more in the data that outcomes are superior when we have pharmacists involved in designing and optimizing the medication regimens. We really see that that leads to superior outcomes."
Promoting Pharmacies' Role in Heart Health
The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) is highlighting the critical role pharmacies play in combating heart disease, the leading cause of death in the United States. Through its Nourish My Health public education campaign, NACDS is spotlighting the efforts of its member pharmacies to provide heart health-related services and solutions at over 25,000 locations nationwide.

PQA's 1st Quarter 2026 Stakeholder Advisory Meeting is March 12, 1-2 pm ET. PQA SAMs are members-only events that are held quarterly to share current and relevant measure development and maintenance updates. The registration link is in the Member Resources Library.
