As a healthcare quality educator, PQA offers a wide range of learning and education opportunities. The goal of our education programs is to promote the use and impact of PQA measures and advance the quality of medication use through research, strategic partnerships, collaboration and a variety of learning venues.
PQA has appointed individuals from member organizations to serve on the 2024 PQA Education Advisory Council (EAC).
The EAC is a select group of approximately 20 PQA members who provide information, feedback and recommendations on PQA's educational programs. The goals of the EAC are to ensure that PQA is meeting the needs of its multi-stakeholder membership and to provide members with a voice in determining the direction of PQA's educational offerings.
Insights on Educational Programming
As an advisory body, the EAC’s recommendations are shared with and considered by PQA staff when developing educational programming. They provide insight into PQA’s general approach to education, including learning formats, delivery methods, and trends in medication use quality and pharmacist-provided care. They also offer input on PQA’s educational resources, such as the Social Determinants of Health Resource Guide and PQA’s Medication Use Quality Continuing Education and Certificate Program.
The Next Generation of Students
PQA is committed to producing the next generation of leaders in health care quality. The EAC dedicates time to sharing the PQA’s Student and Professional Programs with potential applicants, and to provide recommendations to PQA to grow these programs.
Education at Meetings
PQA offers education for members at the PQA Annual Meeting, PQA Leadership Summit and periodic forums. Healthcare quality experts from PQA member organizations and national leaders join PQA staff in addressing top issues and emerging trends in medication quality, measure development and implementation, care transformation and technology. The council provides guidance on themes, topical approaches, and presenters for the PQA Annual Meeting, Leadership Summit, and Quality Forum Webinar Series. Members review and score submissions for annual meeting presentations and serve as judges for the PQA Annual Meeting Poster Session.
