2024 PQA Healthcare Quality IQ (HQIQ)A Student Program for Getting Smart on Medication Use Quality Students selected to participate in HQIQ through a self-nomination process receive scholarships to attend the 2024 PQA Annual Meeting in Baltimore, Md., May 14-16, which includes on Day 1 a special four-hour MUQ training event, where they will learn alongside medication use quality professionals. In addition to this special training, the meeting is an ideal setting for learning about top issues and emerging trends in medication quality, measure development and implementation, care transformation and technology. Following the meeting, students will independently complete the Medication Use Quality program, an additional 11 hours of training. A final live, online workshop will train students on how to construct a quality improvement proposal to improve medication use quality based on the Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) problem-solving model. Students that develop and submit a quality improvement proposal following the live session will receive a certificate noting their successful completion of the HQIQ program. The students’ experience and feedback with this exercise will help PQA develop future education content on quality improvement. Students that complete the program will receive complementary access to this module once it is published. HQIQ is open to undergraduate and graduate students who have completed their second year of study in a pharmacy or other health care degree program.
