Dr. Christopher Powers leads operations for Medicare Part D Stars at Cigna where he manages a team of pharmacists, project managers, and pharmacy technicians responsible for Medicare Prescription Drug Plan quality improvement strategies.  Prior to Cigna, Dr. Powers served in several senior roles at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for over 10 years, where his work focused on the initial launch of the Part D program, development of Part D Star Ratings, and Medicare data transparency initiatives.  He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Albany College of Pharmacy at Union University and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Health Economics and Outcomes Research at Rutgers University.
