Michael Anderson, PharmD

Michael Anderson serves as Chief Pharmacy Officer for UnitedHealthcare Medicare & Retirement. In this role, Michael leads development of formulary and clinical program strategy for the nation’s largest private Medicare plans, serving over 9 million beneficiaries with approximately $30 billion in annual drug expenditures.

Michael has specialized in Geriatrics throughout his career. Upon receiving his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Minnesota, he completed a residency in Geriatric Pharmacotherapy at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center - Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC). Michael joined UnitedHealth Group in 2002 and went on to help lead the Medicare Part D launch in 2006. Michael was subsequently promoted to his current role as Chief Pharmacy Officer.
