PQA Quality Forum Webinar: Telehealth - Advancing Care During Pandemics and Beyond

Telehealth is used to extend healthcare delivery beyond the traditional four walls of a clinic, pharmacy, or hospital. As the world adjusted to a new normal of social isolationism, technology will help healthcare providers meet patients where they are – in their homes.

In this PQA Quality Forum Webinar, Adam Chesler, Director of Regulatory Affairs at Cardinal Health, will provide an overview of telehealth with an emphasis on telepharmacy. Telepharmacy is just one innovation in the future of pharmacy and the adoption of telepharmacy has varied from state to state. Adam will share the implications of novel pharmacy practice models leveraging technology.PQA, and its members, are constantly finding new ways to advance medication use quality. Telehealth has been around for years, but, due to COVID-19, the adoption has skyrocketed. Learn about how telehealth has been used and where it can go providing a new method to care for patients and flattening the curve during pandemics.

Speaker: Adam Chesler, PharmD, MBA, Director of Regulatory Affairs at Cardinal Health

Adam Chesler is currently the Director of Regulatory Affairs for Cardinal Health, Treasurer-elect for the Texas Pharmacy Association, and has more than 15 years of experience in pharmacy including positions as VP of Operations for TelePharm, Director of Strategic Alliances for PTCB, and Manager roles with Walgreens and Target. Adam was appointed to the Texas State Board of Pharmacy Task Force on Pharmacy Technician Practice, the Texas E-Health Committee, is on the board of the Texas E-Health Alliance, and has testified before state legislatures in support of advancing the Pharmacy Profession. He is a graduate of the University of Miami with a bachelor's degree in Health Science, and also earned a doctorate degree in Pharmacy and a masters in business administration from the University of Texas.
