PQA Quality Forum Webinar: Interoperability and Quality

Register to attend this free webinar.

Interoperability is the ability of health information systems to work together in and across organizations to improve the delivery and evaluation of care for individuals and communities. Effectively implemented, interoperability can support the integration of pharmacists and pharmacy services into team-based care that improves the quality of medication use and patient outcomes.

In this PQA Quality Forum Webinar, Josh Howland, Vice President of Clinical Strategy at PioneerRx, will provide an overview of healthcare interoperability and why it is important. His presentation will include a focus on the Pharmacist eCare Plan, which is a dynamic patient-centered plan that integrates medication-related information captured by all members of the care team. This forum builds on the 2019 PQA Leadership Summit, which included a focus on interoperability and quality, as PQA and other organizations are exploring ways to make quality measures interoperable. Through the summit, we heard a clear call from our members for additional education on interoperability.

After attending this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate a basic understanding of healthcare interoperability
  2. Understand why healthcare interoperability is important
  3. Demonstrate a high-level understanding of standardized healthcare terminology
  4. Understand the key components of the Pharmacist eCare Plan
  5. Understand capabilities (and limitations) of sharing data in healthcare
