PQA and NCPDP Webinar: Connecting the Data for Value-Based Arrangements: A View to Support Specialty Pharmacy, Providers, Payers, Patients & Manufacturers
Tuesday, March 30, 2021, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM EDT
Category: Performance Measurement

With the heightened focus on value-based arrangements, standards provide a foundational infrastructure for recording and sharing data on pharmaceutical therapies. Standardized measures are needed to assess pharmacy performance aligned with these therapies and related services, and to highlight the role of pharmacists in improving patient care. Tracking the long-term safety and efficacy of specialty drugs, including drugs subject to REMS, brings added complexity.

Join this webinar for an overview of the data challenges and opportunities in value-based arrangements. NCPDP’s John Hill, will provide an overview of NCPDP’s strategic goal to support value-based models in pharmacy through NCPDP standards. Hear from Lynn Pezzullo, R.Ph., about PQA’s Pharmacy Measure Development Action Plan, which was informed by broad stakeholder input to guide its continued work to build out a pharmacy measure set suitable for value-based arrangements. Then get a look from the perspective of a specialty pharmacy manufacturer. Paul Howard, Amicus Therapeutics, will discuss how new CMS regulations are setting the table for new types of value-based arrangements; the issues that still need to be resolved to fully unlock the potential of new technologies like cell and gene therapies (CGTs) for patients; and the role that hospital and specialty pharmacies can play in collecting patient data as efficiently as possible for payers, providers, and patients. NCPDP’s Specialty Pharmacy Work Group Co-Chair, Laura Topor, Granada Health, will connect the work to NCPDP’s progress standardizing data exchange in specialty, and share how all stakeholders can get involved to develop future enhancements to support value-based arrangements.

J.W. Hill, MBAHCM, CNED, Executive Vice President & GM, NCPDP
