Safe Dispensing Workgroup

The Safe Dispensing Workgroup will identify common processes for dispensing medications in community pharmacies that can be leveraged to improve PQA safety measures (e.g., drug- drug interactions, high-risk medications in the elderly).  This workgroup will review existing evidence to determine if PQA can formulate recommendations for “best practices” in the community pharmacy dispensing process.  If gaps in the evidence exist, the workgroup will recommend studies to help complete the evidence base for best practices in safe dispensing of medications.
