In this section, PQA is collecting links to resources to assist community pharmacy in finding better methods and tools to improve patient care.

Community Pharmacy Foundation

The Community Pharmacy Foundation was established in 2000 by an act of a federal court order emanating out of a settlement on behalf of community pharmacies across the United States through class action litigation against discriminatory pricing issues. It’s primary purpose is to assist community pharmacy by providing resources for research and development to encourage new capabilities and continuous improvements in the delivery of patient care.

First in the "Basics" Series:  The Basics of Pharmacy Performance Measurement

PQA’s Education Workgroup authored a series of articles on the Basics of Pharmacy Quality Measurement.  The “Basics” Series provides high-level information in an easy to read format to help educate community pharmacists, student pharmacists and other stakeholders about the essentials of quality measurement related to pharmacy.  The articles will be included as a series through the Quality Connection Newsletter as well as distributed to other organizations for publication.  The first of the “Basics” Series is The Basics of Pharmacy Performance Measurement, written by Dr. Donna West-Strum from the University of Mississippi.   Click here for more information.
