2010 Quality Metrics Workgroups

 

This is the umbrella for 6 different workgroups in 2010. PQA members can appoint representatives to the specific workgroups below on which they wish to participate.   These six groups will have two broad functions this year:

a) We will begin this year with an environmental scan of measures that may exist in the new 2010 cluster group areas. Then, we will use the expertise on the workgroups to review existing measures already developed and tested for possible refinements to make the measure applicable in the pharmacy and drug plan sectors.  As many groups are engaged in developing health care performance measures, we want to promote harmonization and consistency in the development of medication measures across sectors.

b) Develop new medication measure concepts to fill existing gaps in priority areas identified through PQA’s involvement in the National Priorities Partnership and through the NQF’s work in identifying the top 20 priority health conditions for CMS for the Medicare population.
